The Terror of the Lord
Sami Zaatari
Christians often claim that Islam preaches terrorism because there are certain Quranic passages that say that God will cast terror into the hearts of his enemies, and from this they assert that this is clear proof of terrorism.
For instance they will quote such verses:
Soon shall We cast terror into the hearts of the Unbelievers, for that they joined companions with Allah, for which He had sent no authority: their abode will be the Fire: And evil is the home of the wrong-doers! (3:151)
Remember thy Lord inspired the angels (with the message): "I am with you: give firmness to the Believers: I will instil terror into the hearts of the Unbelievers: smite ye above their necks and smite all their finger-tips off them." (8:12)
So the Christians will quote this and say HA! You see, your God causes terror to the unbelievers, your God does terrorism, hence Islam is not peaceful!
For starters we have already addressed the second quoted verse, click on the following link for the response:

So with all of that said, let us now turn the tables on our Christian opponents, and let us see if they shall be consistent.
We read the following from their own Bible:
Arise, O LORD, let not man triumph; let the nations be judged in your presence. Strike them with terror O LORD; let the nations know they are but men. Selah (Psalms 9: 19-20)
So here we see a prophet of God, namely David making a prayer to God, and the prayer asks God to afflict men and nations with His terror! So using the Christian logic their Bible must also be preaching terrorism as their God is called to cast terror upon the nations.
Now Christians might say oh well this is just a prayer of a man, it is not the words of God. This is a pathetic response, this is a prayer by a PROPHET, which is INCLUDED IN THE BIBLE, why would such a prayer be included in a book of God if God didn't agree or concur with it? The fact that this prayer is in the Bible shows that the God of the Bible obviously concurred with the prayer, and didn't find any fault with it, and after all isn't the Bible's authors such as David etc inspired by God?
And Allah Knows Best!
